The full length of the copper canyon railway track is 656km, contains 37 bridges, 86 tunnels and took 60 years to build. Over 9 hours, the train travels more than 350 km (220 miles) departing from los mochis, sinaloa traveling to creel, chihuahua, a magical town (pueblo mágico) in the heart of the sierra tarahumara, passing through the copper canyons, a series of imposing canyons joining the states of sinaloa and chihuahua in the north of mexico. While the train is far from the biggest attraction in this mexican canyon system, it’s still a fabulous part of the experience.
